The African Academy for Open Source Investigation (AAOSI), powered by Code for Africa (CfA), is offering this fellowship to strengthen the capacity of newsrooms and watchdog organizations in Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire.
Its primary mission is to train investigative journalists and civil society groups in open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media intelligence (SOCMINT). Fellows will learn to detect disinformation campaigns, coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB), and online manipulation, ultimately improving access to credible public information.
The fellowship is a joint initiative of CfA’s iLAB forensic research team, the PesaCheck fact-checking desk, and the CivicSignal AI/ML division.
